Leveraging that knowledge, skill, and expertise, Gary grew Cottingham Marketing into a recognized leader in Customer Segmenting, Targeting, & Positioning, and Data Analytics, where he serves Retail companies and their agencies from across the United States and around the world through consulting and data brokerage. Background and Education: Gary was born and raised in Rochester, New York, and graduated from SUNY Brockport (BA, Political Science/Pre-Law) and Rochester Institute of Technology (MBA, Marketing).
Gary retired from Publix Marketing in 2023, where he led the Loyalty, Personalization, & CRM Analytics Team responsible for defining the Publix Target Customer segments and building target audiences for a wide range of marketing campaigns.
